REFRESH was invited to present the project’s achievements at Composites UK’s Sustainability Sub-Group meeting on 4th March.
Anurag Bansal, Head of Strategic Innovations at REFRESH partner ACCIONA Construccion, delivered a presentation discussing the wind turbine blade end-of-life challenge, the industry and market barriers to blade recycling, the REFRESH circular solution, and the project’s 2025 achievements and 2026 plans.
In the following Q&A session, questions spanned topics ranging from dust management during blade cutting and the properties of recycled materials compared to primary materials, to end-user requirements for recycled materials in construction applications.
Composites UK is the trade association for the UK composites sector, working with its members, partners and government to create the most supportive environment for innovation and sustainable growth. The Sustainability Sub-Group seeks to help address challenges to the long-term sustainability of composite products by progressing and promoting good practice and disseminating new developments.
